1/200 TR-1A US Air Force `Dragon Lady` 95th RSQ 17th RW 80-1099

This TR-1, a version of the U-2 for tactical rather than strategic reconnaissance, was developed with further elements of the 17th Reconnaissance Squadron was deployed to Saudi Arabia from its then base at Alconbury, England, as part of Operation Desert Storm. Apparently fans of the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip popular in the 1980s and 1990s, the pilot and crew chalked Calvin on the right side of the tailplane with a camera.
