This A321 is scheduled to complement the current Ministry of Defense's air fleet from fall 2018. The ex-Lufthansa aircraft is being reequipped for its new task by Lufthansa Technik. 1/500 scale collectable model airliners were the first size of truly detailed airliner models to hit the market. Herpa Models started producing 1:500 scale die cast airplane models in 1992 and over the years has refined and improved their tooling so that the accuracy of these models is truly amazing for their small size. Other brands such as Star Jets, InFlight 500, Blue Box, and JC Wings have produced models in 1/500 scale, but these are more rare and Herpa Model continues to be the most popular and long lasting manufacturer in this scale. Airliner models in 1:500 scale are general from 2 to 6" long depending on the aircraft being represented. Diecast metal airplane in 1:500 scale, printed (not decaled), in meticulous detail.
