Description
The introduction of the Douglas DC-4 opened up new destinations for several airlines in the rebuilding period after World War II. First delivered in 1946 – 75 years ago – Air France started Paris-New York flights with the four-engined DC-4, covering the distance with two refueling stops in Shannon, Ireland and Gander, Canada in less than 20 hours.
