Description
Inherited from its predecessor, Alitalia, EI-IMN is one of currently 17 A319s operated by ITA Airways throughout Europe, easily recognizable by its elegant blue-metallic livery. On this A319, Italy’s largest airline continues the tradition of naming its aircraft after famous personalities in sports. Born in Barletta, Apulia in Southeastern Italy, Pietro Mennea was nicknamed “La Freccia del Sud” (“The Arrow of the South”). As a sprinter, he set the world record over 200 meters in 1979, and held it for no less than 17 years. It is still to this day the European record.
