This type was developed for the purpose of intercepting the Mosquito night fighter type of the British Air Force, equipped with a Yagi antenna for the FuG 218 J3 Neptunes radar on the leading edge of the wing. It features an anti-glare fin on the top of the exhaust pipe, and a fire extinguisher on the body 13 mm machine gun.
