The color black is known to play a central role in New Zealand, from the national rugby team to the country's largest airline. Instead of applying the usually black titles of the world's largest airline alliance to the fuselage, as is customary with all previous Star Alliance logojets, Air New Zealand presented an all-black variant with white lettering on its ninth of currently eleven A321neos it had ordered from Airbus.
