Frequently described as the most advanced tank in the world, the M1 Abrams is unique in that it is powered by turbine instead of diesel engines. The tank has excellent armor protection and is also able to fire at and hit targets while moving thanks to its stabilized gun mount. The M1E1 is actually the prototype M1A1 and features a new 120mm main gun, increased frontal armor and improved environmental controls.
