Overview
This B-52G was part of the 42nd Bomber Squadron based at Loring Air Force Base, Maine, but as the Kuwait conflict intensified in 1990, parts of the unit were transferred to the 4300th Provisional Bomb Wing. This unit operated from the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean and took an active part in combating Iraqi targets from January 1991. During Operation Desert Storm, the B-52s flew numerous sorties day and night, dropping more than 25,000 tons of bombs.
This Die-cast metal airplane model comes in 1/200 scale with landing gear no stand. Model is approximately 9 ½ inches long with 10 ¾ inch wingspan.
