After many years of dominating the World Rally Championship and demonstrating their ability to fully master the challenges of major rallies, Peugeot Sport took on a new challenge and announced its participation in the World Sportscar Championship in November 1988. With the 905, the company now joined other car manufacturers in facing the demanding conditions of the racetrack.
