Hasegawa 1/700 U.S. Battle Ship South Dakota
Highly detailed 1/700 scale assembly model kit of the USS South Dakota (BB-57), the lead ship of her class of battleships in the United States Navy during World War II. The USS South Dakota served two tours in the Pacific and a brief tour in Europe in 1943, where she operated with the British Home Fleet, based at Scapa Flow. The USS South Dakota participated in the Battle of Santa Cruz (October 25 - 27, 1942) during her first tour in the Pacific, and on her second tour to the Pacific, she participated in combat operations preparatory to the invasion of Japan until the end of the war. USS South Dakota returned to the United States in October 1945 and was decommissioned on 31 January 1947.
