About this product
This aircraft was transferred to the RoCAF (Taiwan) in 1962 and assigned to the 4 th TRS (Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron) at Taoyuan AB. The RF-101As were meant to replace the older RF-100s and were used to take photos of Chinese points of interest while remaining over International waters but in fact they would penetrate Chinese airspace for several years. On March 18, 1965 pilot Lt. Col. Chang Yu-pao was flying 5656 when it was shot down, the pilot did not survive. This was the last of the RoCAF RF-101As to be lost.
