HGUC 1/144 RX-79(G) Gundam The Ground War Set

Recreate the ground battles of the One Year War with the RX-79[G] Gundam The Ground War Set, a particularly comprehensive 1/144 scale set combining an HGUC Mobile Suit with vehicles, soldiers and equipment from the Mobile Suit Gundam military universe. This special edition features the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type and enhances it with a range of accessories inspired by the realistic approach of the U.C. Hard Graph range.

At the heart of the set is the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type, a Mobile Suit developed by the Earth Federation specifically for ground operations. The model boasts excellent articulation, allowing for poses such as firing whilst kneeling, and features a particularly comprehensive arsenal comprising a 100 mm machine gun, a Beam Rifle, two Beam Sabres, a shield and an imposing 180 mm cannon. The latter can be dismantled into several parts and stored in the container attached to the back of the Gundam.

This Ground War edition also includes two Rail Cannons, along with hands specially adapted for their use. Two RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type heads are supplied: these can be used to replace the Gundam’s head in order to recreate various configurations seen in the Gundam universe. The visors on the GM heads are made from transparent parts.

One of the set’s main attractions is the inclusion of two 1/144-scale M353A4 Bloodhound Hover Trucks. Despite their small size, they feature a high level of detail. The front-mounted bulldozer is articulated; the turret can swivel, and its gun can be angled, whilst the sonar can be displayed in the deployed position using interchangeable parts. The rear section also features various removable accessories, allowing for different vehicle configurations.

The set is completed by four 1/144-scale Federation soldier minifigures, which enhance the sense of scale and allow you to create realistic ground combat scenes. Their presence alongside the Hover Trucks and the Gundam helps to recreate the military atmosphere of the Universal Century and highlight the gigantic proportions of the Mobile Suits.

A sheet of water-slide decals and marking stickers is included to add further detail to the Gundam and the vehicles. The parts are colour-moulded, and the snap-fit assembly system allows the model to be assembled without glue. Painting is optional, but adding panel lining, weathering and ageing effects will significantly enhance the military appearance of the model.
