Description
Montana-based Neptune Aviation has been operating an aerial firefighting fleet since 1993, which see use in the United States and Canada to fight forest fires. Instead of relying solely on retired military aircraft, such as the Lockheed P-2 maritime reconnaissance aircraft, some of which date back to the 1940s or 1950s, Neptune Aviation was instrumental in the development and certification of the four-engine BAe 146 as a firefighting aircraft. Since 2017, the fleet has consisted entirely of passenger aircraft, originally developed in the United Kingdom.
