About this product
NASA's Hornet in full patriotic colours.
To mark the United States' 250th anniversary in 2026, NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards, California, repainted two of its jets in a red, white and blue "Freedom 250" scheme. One was this two-seat F/A-18B Hornet, 161947 (N867NA). The paintwork was completed in Spokane, Washington, in early July 2026, ahead of the Freedom 250 flyover over Washington, DC, on 4 July 2026.
The fins retain NASA emblems on the outer faces, with a thirteen-star "Freedom 250" emblem on the inner faces. This model pairs with the matching NASA F-15 in the same scheme (sold separately).
