Hasegawa - 1/72 Shinmeiwa SS-2 'Rescue Seaplane'
The Shinmeiwa SS-2 (PS-1) is a four-propeller turbine-powered flying boat of Japanese naval aviation. This first variant had only a makeshift chassis until the SS-2A (US-1) was a full-fledged amphibious aircraft. The preliminary tests for this aircraft series began in the early 1960s with a test aircraft based on the Grumman Albatros. In 1966, Shinmeiwa was commissioned by the Japanese Ministry of Defense to develop a new sea-going flying craft for submarine hunting and submarine hunting. So flew the first prototype of the SS-2 on October 5, 1967 for the first time.
