1/35 VAB 6x6

Over 5,000 VABs (French: Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé = VAB / armored frontal vehicle) are in service in 14 countries across all continents. Traditionally built as a 4x4 (the only version used by the French Army), the VAB is often exported in a 6x6 configuration. Improved off-road capability is the reason for this choice by African countries like Morocco and by Middle Eastern nations. This vehicle has seen extensive use in combat and for peacekeeping and security operations, particularly within the framework of the UN and NATO. In Bosnia, where 200 to 400 VABs were constantly deployed, the availability rate exceeded 90%, while maintenance was limited to routine repairs. A 300 hp engine and an automatic transmission allow the VAB to reach a weight of 16 tons. As with the 4x4, numerous improvements were implemented: a tire inflation and deflation system, a reinforced chassis, and modernized steering and instrument panel.
